Requirements

  • MATLAB R2022b or later

  • Java 8 or higher (for the JAR backend)

Installing LINE

Download the latest release from SourceForge.

To install LINE for MATLAB:

  1. Download and extract the LINE package

  2. Start MATLAB

  3. Navigate to the matlab directory within the LINE project

  4. Run the installation script:

lineInstall

This only needs to be done once. The installation script downloads required Java dependencies and configures the MATLAB path.

Dependencies

LINE for MATLAB requires the following Java dependencies (automatically downloaded by lineInstall):

  • jline.jar (core LINE library)

  • JMT.jar (Java Modelling Tools, for simulation)

These will be automatically downloaded when you run lineInstall.

Starting LINE

Before using LINE in a MATLAB session, you must first initialize it by running lineStart. This script adds the necessary LINE folders to the MATLAB path.

lineStart

You need to run lineStart at the beginning of each MATLAB session where you intend to use LINE.

Verifying Installation

To verify your installation, run:

lineStart
model = Network('Test');
disp('LINE installation successful!');
